"FOR PARTNERS WHO WANT TO LEAD POWERFULLY TOGETHER"
Approach
Powerful pairs are the DNA of great organizations - from families to corporations, and every entity in between. Unfortunately, the language and teaching of leadership has almost exclusively focused on THE leader. This focus can be misleading and even counterproductive. The truth is that leadership is always a shared and paired responsibility. For example, if you started to list the instances where paired leadership is built right into the structure, your list would quickly fill a page….There’s Sergeant and Lieutenant, CEO and COO, Publisher and Editor, CTO and CMO, CTO and CIO, CMO and CNO in hospitals, or, how about Mom or Dad? Critical pairs can be pure equals -- like co-founders or co-CEO’s but they also come in the shape of direct reports, like CEO and COO, President and Vice President, or Principal and President. Contexts are different but the core is the same.
Great partnerships are awesome to be in, and they generate better results. Bad partnerships can be… nothing short of hell. We have data-driven, proven processes to improve partnerships by helping partners work through major external challenges and changes. Our methods work to repair partnerships that have become internally strained and ultimately empower each partner to thrive together.

When you work with us in any of these three phases our proprietary research and tools will support you in:
GENERATING PAIRED LEADERHIPPartnerships thrive when the partners arrive at shared pictures of where they are leading their team(s) and the values that they choose to guide how they will get there. At BLP we assist partners to aim high, but to have the difficult conversations that get way beyond niceties and flowery language so that in practice actions are powerfully aligned.

DIFFERENCES ARE ADVANTAGEOUSThe very power of partnerships comes from our diversity, the richness of varied views, talents, and temperaments. But difference can rise up to confuse us, vex us, and divide us. BLP brings tools and objectivity to the partnership and works to manage differences in a way that lowers the heat of conflict and turns it into the light of insight. Our learning partners emerge with more honesty about each other’s strengths and liabilities and more clarity on how those can be optimized in the partnership and for the organization.

2 PARTNERS & 2 WORDSWhen we launched our research back in 2012 we wondered, “what’s the most important driver of great partnerships?” After interviewing and reading about hundreds of critical pairs, we surveyed over 600 leaders to see which factors most frequently generated great partnerships. Two words ran a huge distance ahead of the field: Open Communication. Open Communication is what you will get from us at all times, and what we in turn help our partners build. Even that which seems utterly undiscussable can be unlocked; indeed that’s often what must be unlocked. We make it safe and constructive to do so.
