Dan MulhernFor the past 20 years Dan has been partnering with individuals and groups to “lead with their best self.” Dan has coached many executives and their teams, helping them to maximize strengths, accept and work on weaknesses, and lead with clarity and purpose. He teaches at University of California Berkeley, in the schools of Business, Law, and Public Policy. He was awarded the Golden Apple Award as student-identified most outstanding teacher at Berkeley. He’s written three books and is working on a fourth.

His focus is on sharing purposes and then being clear about execution and continuous learning. He has personally led in the private sector, as well as in non-profits and government, and worked in organizations large and small. Dan has pioneered, through research, tools, and practice, an approach to Paired Leadership which builds powerful one-on-one relationships, which in turn contribute to powerful achieving-and-learning cultures

Dan is married to Jennifer Granholm, former two-term Governor of the State of Michigan. They met while attending Harvard Law School and have been married over 30 years. They have three wonderful kids. Dan blends a middle-class, second generation Midwest Catholic work ethic, with a huge openness to ideas that fuel the Bay Area: Innovation, Transparency, Positive Psychology, and Presence.
